One Life Left

Definitely the UK's favourite radio show (sort of) about videogames.

Commissioned by London’s award-winning Resonance 104.4 FM in early 2006, One Life Left was only meant to run for six episodes.

Take that, The Man because now, somewhere around one hundred and fifty episodes later, it’s in its seventh season and grown from humbling, terrified, fumbling beginnings into one of the station’s most valued shows.

Take THAT, The Man. Also take that, British radio standards.

OLL the single ladies (and men)

As one of our more devoted listeners – hey, page even we don’t bother logging on to the website any more – you’ll no doubt be aware of our proposed new project for the year – releasing a double A-side Christmas charity single.

The Do They Know It’s Christmas? “tribute” (does that get you round any stupid legalities?) is reasonably self-explanatory, visit this site though we would, of course, appreciate your input. Remember, you could be immortalised in an MP3 – one that, potentially, will be the subject of legal enquiries as we plead ignorance and point at charity cases in order to avoid doing porridge (Americans: that is a colloquialism for “prisons”, which are the same as your “jails”, though we don’t kill our inmates.)

But it is the other A-side we’d also like you to consider. We want it to be new lyrics over a classic videogame theme.

Don’t know what I mean? Then check this out:

So, yeah. Despite the fact that example is *excellent*, we figure we have the most talented listeners outside of the Games For Windows Podcast. What classic game theme would you nominate? And whilst you’re at it, could you write some lyrics?

Stick your ideas down here, along with which of us you would like to sing it (that is if you have anny preferannce), and we’ll do the best on the show.

I like this idea of having a smorgasbord of people (notice I didn’t say talent) singing the different lines. It will be fantastic. And it will make me laugh, so make sure that you are laughing, too, so I can laugh with you, not at you. 😉

PS I really enjoy your show.

PPS you need to blog more than once a month

    the end
