“No Future!” sang some pop group, once, and maybe they were singing about OLL #124, where Wired.co.uk’s News Editor Duncan Geere joins the team to talk about what happens next. What happens next? The same thing as last time, apparently, but in 3D!!!!! OMG.

ANNvestigating gaming rehab

Anyone who’s listened to this week’s show (btw, don’t I sound really great?) will be up to speed with the Gaming Addiction Treated in Rehab Clinic news. If not, here’s the low down: gaming addiction has been treated in a rehab clinic.

But with a story this big, we won’t just leave it there! Think of all the gamers barely able to prize their withered hands from their SingStar mics, desperate to make that call and book themselves into Broadway Lodge, scared to even consider it because actually they have no idea how much it bloody well costs. Don’t worry game addicts! The industry’s leading ANNvestigator is here for you!

So how much does it cost? £1000 a week is what it costs. That is an all inclusive deal, but still, £1000! And they recommend a 4-8 week stay. £4000! £8000!

If you think you’ve got a problem One Life Left would recommend switching off your computer or unplugging your console, or, if you really like playing games that much, just keep playing. You can always spend the money you’d save on this. Gross!

  2. Hmm it would appear you are either:

    a) calling all gamers a “lady part”.
    b) saying gamers wives are not “up to scratch” and need cosmetic surgery

    whoops!

  3. I was about to congratulate you young people on your wholesome and enjoyable programme..
(I especially enjoy the bit where one of the young men inflicts psychological damage on his niece…)
I was even tempted to suggest that the BBC shoots it’s current Blue Peter presenters and employ yourselves…
But now, after following the link above, I’m not so sure…

  4. Putting my boringly sensible hat on, I’m assuming that £8000 rehab stays are for people who are sufficiently addicted that they’re playing WoW rather than going into work, and getting sacked would be even more expensive.
