One Life Left

Definitely the UK's favourite radio show (sort of) about videogames.

Commissioned by London’s award-winning Resonance 104.4 FM in early 2006, One Life Left was only meant to run for six episodes.

Take that, The Man because now, somewhere around one hundred and fifty episodes later, it’s in its seventh season and grown from humbling, terrified, fumbling beginnings into one of the station’s most valued shows.

Take THAT, The Man. Also take that, British radio standards.

Really enjoyed that, thank you Ste!

  2. Despite your claims of being badly put together, I thought it was actually quite fun to listen to. Being a bit of a mashup artist in the making, I’m worried I’m not looking in the right places for great dance music like the track I’m listening to right now (Space Music).

    Nice work!

PS. Being kind of a geek, I’m interested to know what equipment/software you used to cue the music like this. Thanks in advance?

  3. Dr. Homez says:

Aye I would also like to know how it was made because I want to make this girl at uni I like a little mix without having to do it manually in Virtual DJ. I quite like this mix, some nice content.

  4. Derek Williams Derek says:

I would recommend Mixmeister for creating mixes. Does lots of handy things like beatmatching and whatnot. For mashups, Ableton seems best from what I’ve found.

This mix is really good though so don’t be so hard on yourself Ste.

Also I’m actually quite pleased at how my performance sounds for a change.

Anything that doesn’t cost £100+ that you could recommend?

  6. John the Monkey says:

Really enjoyed this, it was a great pressie, ta.

Liked the exclusives, although Derek has still not topped the superb “Let’s Play Video Games” yet (imo, at least).

  7. Bib says:

Well, that was terrific. And i don’t even like this kind of music.

  8. Isstai says:

Thank you for a terrific hour of music. The show is always great but it’s the inclusion of music (generally unknown) that sets it apart from others and this confirms just how good the selection is. I’ve headed on to try to find more by these artists so it’s working for all involved.

It even reminded me to go and buy a copy of the CD which I’m now awaiting impatiently.

    Cheers for the dedication.
